Spring Break Soccer Clinic coming soon…

As our High School teams prepare for their seasons, the school schedule gives us additional time to get ready. Spring Break, starting March 13th through March 17th, will be the perfect time for players to continue their drills and to improve their overall soccer skills.

The SASIC District invites all players from both high school teams and practice squad players from SASIC Prep middle school to attend a soccer clinic at Raymond Rimkus park in Leon Valley, at 6440 Evers Rd., near the intersection of Bandera Rd. and Grissom St, from 8:30am to 11:00am, M-F of Spring Break.

There is a one-time $10 charge per player to cover costs for renting the field and snacks. Players should make sure to bring water bottles, shin-guards and cleats if they have them. Shin-guards can be purchased at Wal-Mart for $5. Players should bring their permission forms with their $10 to coaches this week or to the first day they attend the clinic.

Winter Volleyball Clinic Starts Monday…

Now that basketball season is over (congrats to all teams and players on great seasons, including Monticello HS who lost in the regional final to KIPP Austin), it’s time for a two-week volleyball camp. Mr. Harris, SASIC HS Career Path English teacher will lead the charge as volleyball players take part in skill building and drills.

The clinics will be at SASIC Prep Academy MS gym, from 4:15-5:45pm, starting Monday, February 6th through Friday, February 17th. On the last day, there will be a fundraiser for SASIC Athletics as we watch volleyball exhibition matches among SASIC district students.

And, get ready for Soccer! Beginning February 20th, time to practice Soccer!

Monticello H.S. Wins San Antonio Division; Plays Regional Final this Saturday…

Monticello HS beat SASIC Career Path HS in a hard fought win Monday, 58-46, to win the Divisional basketball title. They were all teeth and trophy, afterwards. Big thanks to Coach Garcia. They play their last game Saturday at 4:30pm, in the Regional final, at 3535 N. Ellison Dr., in San Antonio, versus the Austin, Texas divisional champion.

Also, big thanks to Coach Joe Gallegos and what he accomplished with SASIC, as runner-ups for the Divisional title.

SASIC Prep M.S. Boys and Girls Basketball Teams Win Games…

Plotting a win!

Our girls team is off to a fast start, after winning their first two games. Eighth graders, Felicity Escoto, Dominique Gonzalez and Angelica Sanchez, have made tough plays throughout the games. SASIC Prep doesn’t ever give up. Their first game was a nail-biter and their second was a much more comfortable win. Felicity has been a high-scorer in both games so far.

“Swish” as free throw from Felicity goes through.

Our boys team has won one game and lost one. Seventh graders, Max Moreno, Eli Vidales and Nathaniel Hamilton have joined forces with eighth graders, Dylan Goode and Caleb Manuel, and others, to show their fighting spirit. Caleb had three baskets for six points in their win.
